    Theater reopening

So some theaters reopended now after being closed because of this whole virus thing. Because of how much movies have been pushed back even though some theaters are open there is nothing really out and because of that they are showing older movies. I am just wondering has any one went to the movies and if so what have you seen? I went and saw wonder women on Monday and today I saw Star Wars force awakens.

    Re: Theater reopening

No AMC or Regal theaters are opened in the New Orleans area but a few independent ones are. The popular one-screen Prytania Theater in the city offers Ghostbusters (1 PM), The Dark Knight Rises (4 PM), and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (7:30 PM) today. I think they have to operate at 25% capacity.

I'll likely just wait for Tenet, and go then.

Just curious if any of you are dining inside restaurants at all, or at the very least if you think the dining option is potentially safer than movie theaters (provided their safety protocols they'll have in place)?

This is purely for data collection purposes only. Just getting a gauge of where people are at with it.

I started back in restaurants back in June but I live in a less populated area of the country (Alabama) but if I lived in say NYC no way in hell would I be inside a restaurant. as for movie theatres, I'm not in any hurry to return because nothing atm grabs my attention. the last movie I went to was in December, Rise of Skywalker

Once a week I get takeout from a popular potato place or Zydeco's and/or a pizza from Rotolo's but I haven't dined in since late March. Of course Louisiana was no-dine-in for a while.

I think they've removed seating at most places. So Takeout/carryout/drive thru/ubereats.

I dont dine in (minus special things like birthdays) or go to movies anyways so that stuff didnt impact me.

But I still occasionally order takeout. Maybe once a month though.

I used to order Pizzas regularly, but I don't care as much to order during a time like this, haven't ordered a pizza since the weekend everything went crazy in March (ironically I found out about some of these shutdowns and quarantines while I was eating a pizza I just went out in public to get).

Not to mention, I've started finding alternatives to items I used to order. Pizza wise, I just buy a premade pizza shell(the work required when you buy the dough isnt worth it at all) and add everything together myself. It actually tastes nice, costs less than a pizza place, and has no pizza grease or potential germs on it.

I haven't had pizza since the quarantine. I know eating unhealthy, greasy food is always a vice no matter what, but damn it I want some pizza and it's about time I get some!

I've been getting some Olive Garden takeout lately, and got Black Bear Diner yesterday.

All three AMC theaters in the metro New Orleans area will open Thursday. They are all in the suburbs (Harvey, Harahan, and Metairie). There are no AMC's in the city.

I feel much safer in a theater indoors than a restaurant or school.

Inherently less talking and plenty of easy ways to social distance

You know, I never really thought about theaters having less talking/socializing/interaction. That's a good point. I rarely go to the theater so I probably wouldn't go anyway, but I never really considered your point.

I've been out to restaurants/breweries. I try to sit outside when possible, but even when inside I haven't felt unsafe. Everyone around here is wearing masks when moving around, capacity has been reduced, staff is always wearing masks so I haven't been too concerned. I never feel like I'm in a crowded space and am in danger of catching something.

That being said, it's not like I'm doing it daily. I would say probably 2-3 times a month we go out. Otherwise we will do take-out/delivery.
