Anyway, onto this movie. Courteney Cox kind of revealed it on social media and confirmed she is in it. Apparently David Arquette is also on board, and Neve Campbell is in talks to return. Kevin Williamson will also be a part of the project, but likely more so as an executive producer rather than a writer. Obviously no Wes Craven since his passing in 2015.
No word yet on whether this will be a reboot or an actual sequel within the original timeline. Many people know that Scream 4 was a soft reboot, but was still in the Scream film canon. This may follow similar footsteps.
Clearly with the pandemic, there probably isn't much going on with this project when it comes to nearing production or a release window, but knowing that it's happening is always a good sign in my book. If anything, hopefully it means they will re-release Scream 1-4 on UHD and give them proper treatment this time. Scream 2 is far and away my favorite, but the Blu-ray looks worse than some DVD's out there. It's time they figured it out this time around.
