The Mantle of the Black Panther is passed down to her in the comics at one point. So it only makes sense. But now... This is a tough place. It would have to be done seamless.

I mean his family must be heart broken. Jeeeez

Clearly I haven't been paying attention.

Anyway, as much as I'm "ehh" about BP1, what Boseman and Coogler did for the African-American race both nationwide and worldwide with that film's release, success and acclaim is nothing short of awe-inspiring, and Boseman had played a humbled and idolizing tune the time since.

The next time I watch Endgame and see him appear, the room will coincidentally get awfully dusty at the time time.

The fiction world was so captured perfectly. I'm sure people wish it was real. I watched that movie in the theaters 5 times. Got the bootleg, got the Blu-Ray, downloaded the legal digital stream. That world alone was done so well. I think it kind of changed the way I looked at the world and history. This one hurts

Unimaginably tough to keep something like that a secret. But I just can't help but think that if I were in his shoes, I probably would have been the same way.

EDIT: Just goes to show how well he and his family kept that a secret though... I got off work at 9 from a text saying "RIP Chadwick Boseman" and my first thought was he was in a car accident or something, like cancer was THE LAST thing I would've guessed.

He was losing a ton of weight though in the last year. I remember being worried for him after seeing him do interviews for Endgame because of weight loss but also thought he was doing it for a role.

A life so young, taken too soon. An amazing actor, that gave people hope in the role of Black Panther and reminded us the importance of Jackie Robinson.

Truly sad news .... Black Panther was always a favorite character as a kid comic book collector and I recalled getting excited when he would show up in all kinds of titles I would collect. Although I wasn't crazy about BP1 either, he definitely brought an authenticity to the role throughout. It's always a shame when the seemingly good ones are taken too early and it will always remain a mystery. Cancer just plain out sucks. Robbed my kids of knowing their grandmother at all.

It's these kind of make it or break it stories. That should push us in our everyday lives.

It had been awhile, so I watched 42 again tonight. He's going to go down in history for Black Panther, and rightfully so, but he was so good playing Jackie Robinson.

He was gonna be one of the greats and eventually be an Oscar winner.
