I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Damn man **** 2020. This was my late uncle’s favorite band, one of my first memories as a little boy was dancing to Jump and entertaining the family.

when it comes to Van Halen the band, I've always been a Hagar guy, over Roth, but the truth is Eddie is what made VH, VH. w/Eddie, it could have been Gilbert Gottfried as the frontman, Eddie would have made everything alright. R.I.P.

Wow, this came as a total shock to me, since I never knew he was in poor health. Sad day for sure.

              I consider him in my top 3 rock guitarists;
              1- Jimmy Page
              2- Jimi Hendrix
              3- Eddie Van Halen
              4- Stevie Ray Vaughn
              5- Eric Clapton

              RIP Eddie

September 8 , 1978 Cumberland County Civic Center Portland , Maine. I went to see Black Sabbath. Some band called Van Halen was the opening act. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Who was this guy playing that guitar? After their last song the whole place erupted with everyone chanting Eddie , Eddie , Eddie. At that moment everything changed.

People like Eddie Van Halen do not come along often. In the guitar world I'd say Hendrix is the only other that took it to new levels like Eddie did. Even though my instrument is the drum kit he was still a huge influence on my musical life.

Eddie meant so much to me growing up as a young aspiring guitarist. He was a such a wizard on the guitar. Like he was the “Merlin” of the six string. And while he was always lauded for his masterful solo’s and basically taking the “Hammeron” to levels unheard of in 1978 with Eruption, his sound is what sucked me in. That “Brown” sound and his intricate rhythm work was truly the gift. Oodles and oodles of unmistakable classic riffs that will live on in infamy.

I lost one of my heros yesterday.

May he rest in peace and hook up with Neil and jam in the heavens.

You were the best Eddie and you will be missed.

There is something seriously wrong with David Lee Roth also when they did that reunion tour and live album he absolutely sucked just like he does in this video. He's not a hard rocker anymore he's a lounge lizard washed up has been.

In my opinion, I like the DLR years better than the Sammy years.

Everyone knew that DLR studio voice didn't sound at all like DLR live concert voice. DLR was a showman, that is what sold the live performances along with the Van Halen's and Michael Anthony's voice and bass playing.

DLR wrote lyrics about Running with the Devil, Atomic Punk, Hot For Teacher, etc.... while Sammy wrote lyrics about Love Comes Walking In and Dreams.

No doubt, Sammy has a much better voice and vocal range.

Just my fan opinion that the Roth era had more punch to it.
