    Big Brother 23

Yes, it's happening TONIGHT. I almost forgot it was tonight. Haven't been less excited for a season of BB in all the years I've watched. I haven't read any cast bios, and might not even bother reading anything online about the season (since we know 24/7 feeds catch EVERYTHING). I'm not even doing a preseason pick or cast assessment because I just set myself up for disappointment.

BBCAN9 which aired this past spring was arguably one of their best seasons ever. It's a shame BB US cant even be good anymore.

    My current season rankings:
    7(AS),8,12,10,5,20 as "top tier"
    Celeb,18,16,14,6,17,Celeb 2, 11 as "middle tier"
    13,22,21,19,15,9 as "bottom tier"

No one seems overly annoying so far. Frenchie is playing way too hard/stupid

I bet we have a battle back competition in a few weeks.

I like the new 'twist'. The more comps the better.

Bring back the slop comp and random foods we get to vote on.

I never get with BB and really many other shows why they resort to gimmicks to try and mask their issues, when all fans wanted was what worked before, which for the most part was the plain and simple things.

The format from BB5-12 was a good one, with 6-10 being their golden years (minus 9).

Sunday being the hoh comp conclusion or just the food comp and nominations, Tuesday being the veto, Thursday being the eviction and HOH.

I hope I'm not jinxing it, but the start to this season hasn't been so bad. The diverse casting has helped too since we don't have a cast filled with stereotypes/archetypes.

The HOH comp felt like a mess though. I'm not sure the HGs understood the timer rules, and I don't think the producers cared that people were basically breaking that rule. And then they cut the feed during the actual winning moment of the comp too, so we didn't know which member won HOH until Julie said so, and we don't know if that team cheated either right before the win.

I noticed that some were going back and waiting until their timer was almost up before resetting it. Seems like good strategy to me.

            Is it?

The goal is to put together the puzzle in the fastest time. If you're just waiting, you're wasting time. Each time its someones turn, the buzzer should be hit. Doesn't matter if the clock is at 5 seconds or 15, it resets to full time.

              Just saw the nomination episode.

That was a no brainer wildcard choice.

Guaranteed safety until jury? Who wouldn't take it?

I could understand deciding between team safety for 1 week or your own safety for 2, but jury is the first main milestone.

I'm confused on the new powers.

How do the comps work? You spend your money on competing in the comp, and whoever wins gets the power.

But what happened this week? I thought whoever scored the highest in the veto derby gets to place a bet on who else they think will win the veto, and if they're right, they get a veto themselves.

But seems like everyone who played in veto Derby gets to place bets on the veto comp?

Next 2 weeks will be interesting with 4 HGs being voted out on back to back double evictions.

Alyssa dropped before the end of the live show, which guarantees the Cookout will be HOH again.

I wonder which member will win. I'd guess Kyland probably since its endurance.

Tiffany and Claire being the nominees (since Tiffany needs to go up as part of the Cookout agreement), and Alyssa being the backdoor plan if Claire wins veto.

As much as the BB fans seem to dislike SB, I liked her. Then again, Derek X compared her to Nicole F, and I liked Nicole in her first 2 seasons (but BB22 made me regret that entirely).

This season has been so predictable every week. Because of that, it’s been extremely boring and hard to watch. I feel like it’s a chore for the last 3 or 4 weeks unfortunately.

Predictable, but it was brought on by BB. This kind of alliance wouldn't happen if BB history had been more diverse. But it's like DaVonne last year, sure, you'd rather be the one to win, but if not you, you want to make sure someone "who looks like you" can finally win.

You never see that in a game like Survivor because Survivor has had a much more diverse cast (they're not perfect either, but still better casting than BB).

BB Can and BB US this year I've loved. Possibly both season featuring a winner I really liked.

But I'd still love some rule tweaks to BB. Whoever survives eviction can't be nominated the following week. Eliminate the "pawn stars".

                        Cookout final 6!

I really thought they were going after Kyland at the double. Wouldn't have surprised me if Hannah and Tiffany wanted to.

But now the real game begins. Hopefully Xavier or Kyland wins HOH and gets Tiffany out.

I thought Tiff screwed herself by not dropping and letting Ky win HOH, but she found a way to talk herself out of danger even after her disaster scenario happened with Alyssa taking herself off the block

This isn't breaking news by any means but I haven't posted here yet, but the Tiff strategy of having the Cookout members each have a counterpart outside of the alliance is next level brilliance, that's one of the greatest strategies in BB history

We've seen similar strategies before, but none have gone as good as this one.

I still think Tiffany winning HOH could cost her. We'll see what happens over the next week though.

I still don't understand the logic. The plan was literally to have the cookout member go up on the block alongside their "plus one", but after weeks of other members doing the same, she said no?

Let Kyland win HOH, Tiffany and Claire go up, which guarantees Claire or Alyssa (if Claire won veto) going home. The following week, the other one goes. What's so hard to understand?

Tiff winning that HOH 100% lost her the game. I don't see how the other members just forget that. Maybe if it's like Tiff vs Azah/DF who have done nothing the entire game except be in this alliance.
