PC/PS5 audio question: is this possible?
Alright so I'm putting together a man cave desk area with two monitors. One monitor is for my PS5 and the other is for a PC. The goal is to have one set of speakers for both monitors. Is this possible?
Or am I going to need dual speaker setup?SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: PC/PS5 audio question: is this possible?
Question: what type of speakers are you going to use? If they are pc speakers that use Toslink or composite, you can get an audio extractor unit to split off the audio from the PS5 and then utilize one of those two connections if you’re speakers use those. For a headphone jack connection, I’m sure extractor units exist for those, but how well they work is a different question.
I’m not too fluent on what restrictions Sony has put on those kind of devices as I’m an Xbox guy. So it may not even work with the hdmi 2.1 spec.
I hope this helps somewhat. If you already know everything that you’re getting hardware wise, I might be able to help more.

I'm not even sure what PC or speakers I'm getting. Thinking on it more I probably need two sets of speakers because I intend on using the PS5 and PC at the same time for different tasks.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: PC/PS5 audio question: is this possible?
Yeah if that’s the case, it’ll save you a ton of headaches having either a two system setup or having a like a 2 or 7 channel AVR.
If you run a 7 channel unit, you could always run the A/B speaker setup. PS5 on the 5.1 and then the pc on 2 channel. Or just get a basic 2 channel unit and switch between the inputs.

The setup will be a dual monitor with one for PS5 and the other for my PC. I'm actually just going to get a couple PC soundbars and place them side by side. Just want to have as clean of a look as I can.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: PC/PS5 audio question: is this possible?
Do the monitors have an AUX/3.5mm out? A lot of them do, but YMMV.
If so you could run them to a 2 in 1 out 3.5mm switch. Then any PC speakers will work with 3.5mm, or maybe some soundbars.Comment

Re: PC/PS5 audio question: is this possible?
Oh, I was under the impression you wanted sounds to play from both of them simultaneously.
If not, it's definitely possible with any sorts of switches. Do I know the exact combination?
