I don’t think she’s any worse than like 90% of the actors across the Star Wars shows/movies. I wouldn’t really say this franchise is the pinnacle of acting. She’s fine; certainly not deserving of the treatment she’s been getting. I mean, people were over the moon when they found out Hayden Christensen was returning for this lol.

Good point.

I will say this….I really liked her in The Queens Gambit. I just feel like she is w miscast here and it is not becoming of her acting chops.

And in this series it has for me stuck out like a sore thumb.

But I agree….the dialog and acting in the Star Wars universe can be quite wooden. But she is not believable for me. I guess that is the best way I can describe it.

Fantastic point.

I find her performance ok. If I had to describe her performance in one word it would be "uneven". Some scenes I think she's very good and some scenes I've seen have been as someone above said "Cringeworthy".

Thought people were mostly loving this show but now seeing more comments on like social media and it seems more mixed than I thought. Star war fans really can't agree on anything out side of the fact the 9 main movies have amazing soundtracks.

Dragging OBW through the fire was an amazing touch by whoever wrote this thing. It was totally flipped from the feelings of the ending of the PT Ep3. Just perfect.

I gotta say I’m disappointed in OBW’s ability so far. He’s totally lost it! I know that serves the story and shows how long he’s had to be normal, but it’s hard to watch such an iconic good guy be so depleted.

It's not outside the realm of possibility that he hasn't used the force in ten years. If Star Wars Rebels is anything to go on, a Jedi using the force is like shooting a flare into the night sky for the Inquisitors to find. Anytime in that show when Kanan or Ezra would use the force, the Inquisitors would be close behind. I don't want to say he completely cut himself off from the force, but I would say he has used it very little to stay hidden.

And if you don't use it, I would imagine you lose it. Think how much he struggled to simply catch Leia when she fell. Obi-Wan absolutely did not want to have a duel with Vader in episode three, but his hand was forced.

I have a feeling this is setting up for another confrontation between them later in the series. Otherwise, this creates a lovely little plot hole for A New Hope when Vader says "When I left you, I was but a learner. Now I am the master."

For what it’s worth, I wasn’t complaining that OBW is a bum now, just that it’s been tough going from the last time we saw him kicking Anakin’s *** to now where he can barely use the Force or a lightsaber. You’re absolutely right that the time away, by necessity, has eroded his ability greatly. I can’t wait until he’s closer to form to see what I consider an inevitable rematch with Vader. Going to be an epic duel.

Two bodies left that planet, but they weren't the men they were before.

I had that same feeling leaving the theater for The Last Jedi, so you can only imagine how that hit me lol. As far as this show, it doesn’t surprise me. Just in the newest episode, we’ve got

Obi-Wan trying to hide Leia under a trench coat like Vince Adultman, Crushed Ice going from “no way I can help” to “whatever you need” in the time it would’ve taken his dad to perform It Was A Good Day, then Tala stiff arming two storm troopers and getting away

. I don’t think the writing does them any favors at all.

Latest episode was alright. It was more in line with the first episode. Going to need 3rd sister and the dude with the raiden hat to throw hands though before this season is over. That would be cool to see.

Are we even going to get a young Luke story out of this?.. but thank goodness they didn't waste 6 episodes with Obi-Wan babysitting him on Tatooine, which is what I assumed this would be!

They're going to have to explain why Obi-Wan hasn't been able to communicate with Qui-Gon. If it is beacuse Obi-Wan cut himself off from the force, fine. But they're going to have to say it, can't just ignore that tease from EP3.

As many have said, its the writing.

Look at GOT. Jamie Lannister was a deplorable character everyone hated, and morphed into someone most people rooted for. Ned Stark was one of the most revered characters, but the viewer was forced to acknowledge his faults.

Star Wars doesn't do a good enough job of developing their characters. Lucas didn't have to with the OT. The special effects told an overwhelming portion of the story. those days are LONG gone.

And sure, GOT had scores of pages of books as source material for their characters..

but just look at Obi-Wan and Leia. He couldn't throw her a bone and tell her a story about Padme? Not one? The handholding thing was powerful. Dialogue seems like it would have meant a whole lot more.

... and they can't use time as an excuse here. This is hardly a case where they have to leave 5 minutes on the cutting room floor to make sure the movie comes in under 2 hours

My main complaint about this episode was the length. There is no excuse for an episode only being 38 minutes on a platform that you own. So it makes it come across as a filler episode.

And in a six-part series...you don't have time for filler episodes.

Overall, I like the series, but I'm going to wait for the final two episodes before giving a final opinion.

I have been a big critic of her performance and this last episode was easily her best so far. I was actually enjoying her presence and thought she gave a great performance in the interrogation room with Leia.

Go figure…..better writing for her on episode 4.

Really enjoyed episode 4. No high of a OBW-DV showdown, but a steady pace of action and suspense. Got big SW Fallen Order vibes from the base, which makes complete sense on the timeline. Picking up that game really ignited/reintroduced me to SW, so this ep (and series/time period) was right up my alley.
