Favorite TV Sitcoms of the 90s
What are some of your favorite sitcoms from the 90s? In order for a show to qualify, they have to primarily air in the 90s, so shows like Everyone Loves Raymond doesnt count even though it debuted in 96, the majority of the seasons were in the 2000s.Last Movie Watched: Morbius (2022).
Last TV Show Watched: MARVEL's What If?...(S3:E7).

Some off the top of my head that I really enjoy. Grew up watching a lot of Network TV with things like T.G.I.F. Also having stations that play reruns has really helped me check out shows I missed as a kid or never really got into.
Seinfeld - It's scary how many times I've seen certain episodes
The John Larroquette Show - Right after Night Court, underrated show that has the same feel
Living Single - Good cast, good comedy
The Drew Carey Show(went to 04, but started in 95, probably doesn't count) - Same thing as Living Single
Home Improvement - Liked the comedy
Stuff like Friends, Family Matters, Full House, Fresh Prince, I won't turn off if they're on TV but wouldn't consider them my "favorites".Comment

Re: Favorite TV Sitcoms of the 90s
Married with Children & Seinfeld are iconic and never get old. I always thought it was funny how much more realistic the friends in Seinfeld were compared to the show Friends.
Honorable mentions that I enjoyed but I can't just re-watch constantly like the above:
Fresh Prince - Uncle Phil is forever the goat
Home Improvement - I always enjoy Tim AllenComment

Re: Favorite TV Sitcoms of the 90s
Yes, without question "The Simpsons" is a sitcom, and the 90's are where it belongs (and should have stayed, IMO). You wouldn't know it by watching the shell of a zombie husk of 'clapter' it is today, but at one point in time, "The Simpsons" was the most cutting, insightful, brutal, and brilliant satire of American culture in the modern history of television. I'm pretty sure John Swartzewelder would smack the living soy milk out of every single "writer" in the current Simpsons writer's room if he were still in the game (and cared).
Agree with a lot of what's been posted already. I'd add "Frasier", which is amazing and the first time I can recall a spinoff being better (potentially) than its parent show. Very smartly written but always from the perspective of making fun of overly educated effete snobs (perfectly represented by Frasier & Niles).Comment

Re: Favorite TV Sitcoms of the 90s
I think seasons 3-13 where it's best but I don't agree that it was bad after that. The show was still really good threw like season 20 and that would be like 2009. So I would say it's like 90s and 2000s lolComment

I have to give Newsradio a little love. There was no one quite like Phil Hartman in the Nineties. Or ever. Get a Life with Chris Elliott was pretty good, and underrated too. Wish it had gotten a couple more seasons.Talk about things nobody cares.
