    Any mention of the xbox 360 being backwards compatible?

    I didn't come across any info saying it was. Has anyone found out?

          The last I heard MS was leaning towards backwards compatibility - I don't think it has been confirmed.. I wouldn't play any of my old games so I could care less.

              No official word yet but I imagine its a 'NO' on backwards comp. However... it will probably be an add-on that will cost money. But again... no official word from MS.

                      If you check out one of the 360 intros (it starts out with the ant and various people from the hardware team talks specs) it shows a couple of Xbox 1 games being played on the 360 (MX vs. ATV and Halo 2) but that could be emulation stuff or old footage and backwards compatibility got axed later on in development.

                      To me, I don't know how important backwards compatibility will be. I guess it's a case of "having it and not needing it" being better than "needing it and not having it"

                      Guess we'll all have to wait and see.

                          I hope so, because I love Halo 2 multiplayer and would love to continue playing it on the 360. Heck even after Halo 3 comes out I would still go back and play the old maps, i still do it today with friends, we play the original Halo all the time.

                              Well, the answer is that backward compatibility will be limited to the most popular games - like Madden and Halo.
