Count me as one who never "got" the RTS craze.

Gather-gather-gather-build-build-build-war had 90% boredom and 10% excitement for me.

I liked Ground Control, since it was mainly strategy and not so much micromanagement and maintenance, but I never even bothered with Civilization, Empire Earth, or any of those types.

I love the Civ and AoE series! Civ 2 and the 1st AoE got me hooked.

TCrouch, I never got into racing games...

          Nice comeback.

Anyways, I've been looking for a RTS game to indruduce me to the genre. Something thats for complete beginners but still with a lil depth. I tried to get into the Command and Conquer series recently and I was'nt feeling it much. Any recommendations?

The Civ series isn't too much of a RTS as much as it is like playing Risk on the computer with MUCH more detail in operations.

            My favorite RTS games are...

AoE II - Lots of gathering and large battles. LONG Games!
Warcraft III - Less gathering and more fighting. Easy to pick up.

Yeah, I've never been into those types of games either.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
