    Slot loading disc drive PS3

nobody ever talks about durability with new gaming systems, why not? if you could tell me which new system, out of the big two, is less likely to break down they'd get my money. controllers, memory, avaible titles, in mind are all equal to a certain extent. but will these 'next gen' machines last longer than 2 years without breaking down with expected use?

now to my question: ps1, while I did hear of overheating I never personaly experienced it, i don't think it was that wide spread as the ps2's "disc read error". how many ps2 owners out there dealt with the "disc read error" issue? i would guess a high 90%, and that issue could have been solved had they been practical instead of trying to be cutting edge with the disc loader (new slim ps2 went back to the old school ps1 drive to fix this HUGE problem). so agin to the question, will this new "slot load disc drive" have similar issues as the original ps2? i ask because i have no experience with them.

I say choose the system that has the games you want to play the most and purchase an extended warrantee from where you buy the system and not worry about you investment going sour so soon after purchase.

I got both PS2 and Xbox at launch and didn't have any major problems with either, both still work good and I've used them a lot.
