    I found that very interesting to read, thanks for the link...warning though, odds are it'll be way too technical for most people...kinda helped that I've taken OS, CPU Datapath, Graphics, and other classes...lots of technical terms that just mean gobblygook to most.

      His articles are always top-notch IMO, the guy knows CPU's.

      He also had a 2-part brief write-up on the "cell processor" earlier this year.

        Great read.

        I was wondering when procedural synthesis was going to be mentioned again. The Xbox 360 really seems like it was designed with very specific purposes in mind, and this is one of them. Can't wait until part 2, to see what they say about the innards of the Xbox 360. Arstechnica is reliable as anybody on net.
