Is the PSP right for me?
I'm going to be a freshman in college next year. I'm thinking of using my graduation money to buy a PSP. I'm wondering if the PSP is good enough to use as a stand alone gaming system while I'm away at college. I'm thinking of getting a PSP right now and waiting untill I move out of the dorms in a year or two to get a next-gen gaming system. Is this a good plan or not?Tags: None -
Re: Is the PSP right for me?
I have one. I fly quite a bit for work, so it's great for that. But I would never use it in lieu of a console system. The games are nowhere near the same quality as the consoles. To me, unless you travel or commute on a train, etc., the PSP pretty much is useless. I know others think of it a little higher, but I would be very surprised if many people say it would work as the sole gaming system.Originally posted by HerbsinatorI'm going to be a freshman in college next year. My advice is to wait until you get to college, see what system(s) your roommate has, and go from there. If he does not have anything, get an XBox or PS2 on the cheap.
Most importantly, take school seriously. But have fun, and meet all the people you can. There is nothing else in life that even approximates college. Where you going?Quit making your stupid YouTube videos and start playing the game. -

I'm going to the University of Nebraska. I have a Xbox already, but I don't think I'll take it out of my house. I think if I get a PSP I won't play it as much...so it will be easier to focus on school. If I get a console...I would end up playing way to much and not getting anything done.Originally posted by ChicagoSpartyI have one. I fly quite a bit for work, so it's great for that. I play my PSP all the time at home. While watching TV. Best part is taking it with you into the bathroom.
Beats reading.

I'm in the same boat. My buddy has one and never goes anywhere, and he plays it like crazy. I'm going to South Carolina in the fall, so I'm obviously going to be traveling a bit back and forth for holidays & breaks. I think it'd be worth it, plus I'll probably take my XBox and I'll have my laptop for PC games.Originally posted by HerbsinatorI'm going to be a freshman in college next year.
