Depends on the availability of the 360 in other retail stores basically. Also, in what might be added if the person online might have some deal or something. Shoot, I'll check out those ebay prices. If they're cheaper than the retail stores, I'll consider to put up a bid. By the way, are you throwing in a warranty??

Considering the system is going to be about $300, and there will be all over the places in stores, I say it doesn't go over $350 on Ebay. Just like the PSP's, everyone and their mother tried to get 400 bucks for their PSP only to have them go with zero bids because every store had plenty of them for $249. Add to the fact that a lot of people just bought an XBox, I see only hardcore gamers picking up the 360 right away. The PSP launch proved that to me. There hasn't been a day go by that I can't go to just about any store and find a PSP.

          Not a chance.

With an almost affirmative retail price of 299$, no higher than 349$, I see eBay auctions grossing hardly more than retail price. I don't think shortage of merchandise will be a problem upon release, they should be readily available and fairly easy to find.

Honestly, PSP and the 360 are two totally different horizons for gaming. I do think that a lot of the 360s will be sold out. However, I think that people will be smart enough to wait for games to really come out for it. Plus, a lot of people are looking for that PS3 to bang hard too. We'll just have to wait and see. I say sell your reserve right now rather than trying to get an XBOX 360 sold. Seems like a better deal. Might even make more money.

I have mine reserved, but as much hype as was behind the PSP, you'd think that everywhere would be sold out, but Sony thought ahead and had tons of them available. Same will happen with the Xbox 360, Xbox 1 launched and they were to be found the next few weeks until it got closer to Christmas.

my theory- PSP had no "fan base" it was a brand new system. this was not a second generation product. if i remember correctly, a playstation 1 was pretty easy to find in stores when it was released. look what happened when ps2 was released- you couldnt find one ANYWHERE. When xbox was released, every store had extras, because it was a first generation system. MS now has a fan base for the xbox, and the 360 will be a HUGE seller (esp at $300). i predict that if you dont have one preordered, it will be tough to get one. i know several friends who did not pruchase a xbox 1 on launch day, that have already ordered the 360. I have to think that most other satisfied xbox owners will have the 360 preordered before release in novemeber. Basically heres what it boils down to: i would say 10-15% of current xbox owners will preorder the xbox 360, which IMO is probably the max amount of 360's MS can produce in the short time frame of september and october, which would leave them in HIGH demand in the market, and hence the HIGH ebay price

I do expect a shortage. Look what happened when the PS2 came out. I have mine reserved anyway.

Which is exactly why MS won't let it happen with x360.
