Which one...Dawn of War, Fire Warrior, or the real tabletop game?Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaire -

For me, the best part about the game was the paint scheme editor...it helped me create these guys:

Warhammer 40K is actually a tabletop strategy game. The figures in those pics are part of the army I've painted..the figures come in model form, unassembled and unpainted.
"Dawn of War" is based off that universe. There are 10 different armies (more if you consider the variants and sub-armies) but DoW only lets you choose from 4: The Eldar (futuristic Elf race) , Orcs, Chaos Marines and everyones favorite...the all-powerful Space Marines. Like I said, you can download patches to use other armies. Its a pretty cool game, the Warhammer Universe has been around for 20 years now and the lore/backstory is second to none. You should like it...Last edited by HMcCoy; 06-03-2005, 12:28 AM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

No no no, what I meant was what is with heros in todays rts games? I never had that when I played Red Alert 2, now you have heros that are like impossible to kill and totally dominate the gameplay.http://flotn.blogspot.com

Re: Warhammer 40k impressions???
Okay, for some reason, I hear so much good about the game but it looks a little confusing. Can't "rent" these games for computer cause that's just unheard of. It's just buy. I would try it but I already discourage my brother from downloading stuff so that is a contridiction. What does this game compare too well? I've played Rise of Nations, Empire Earth I, Age of Empires II, Red Alert 2 w/ expansion. Kind of new but kind of old. Seems interesting but almost too "unfamiliar" and uninviting to me. Anything??Comment
