It's becomming more apparent that Mr. Kutaragi is scared, and knows Microsoft is a serious player this upcomming gen. He didn't say these kinds of things about Sega and the Dreamcast.

Regardless of how powerful the PS3 is compared to the Xbox, the next generation of gamers want one thing, "Online." When referring to the "Online" portion of the next gen systems, Sony and their product don't even deserve the right to recite the words "Online" and they are going to pay for their neglect dearly.

Dont care what he says really. I have my mind made up on getting the XBox 360 based just alone on hoiw much I enjoy the XBox. Plus I play for Sports, FPS and online...im sure it will be a great system gfor that.


BTW Ill also probably get a PS3 at launch unless 360 is just that good.

IMO that's just not very good business sense...maybe people with more of a business background can chime in, but ripping your competition usually isn't in the main plan of a product release, at least not in this way.

I think Sony was really surprised that 360 is launching so soon. It may be killing them that PS3 is not ready yet. Clearly, he continues to throw Microsoft under the bus because they too were impressed by what they've seen and heard about 360.

I think it's because Sony has over promised (so far) and now he's trying to down play MS and the 360, because they were more realistic. Does anyone think that Sony could lose developers due to Kutaragi's rants? Or do you view it as "business as usual"?

They won't lost developers. The developers don't care what Kutaragi has to say about Microsoft, they just want to make a profit and know they will be able to on a Sony system. And until Microsoft proves otherwise, Sony is still king in the console market and the developers won't be going anywhere.

I agree with you there. The goal is to differentiate, not slam the competition. Gives the general public a bad perception, makes the company sound desparate.

Ironic how MS isn't even worried about countering or trying to defend itself. I do love that company for their standards in just letting competition shoot themselves in their feet. Guess I'm even anticipating Sony's release more to see how much they didn't come through. It'd be a sad day when such a strong company has to sell off parts to make ends meat. I'm almost scared for them....ALMOST

Well said...I'm seriously considering just owning X360(for online gaming) and Revolution for ol' school games.
