This has to be a pretty early alpha kit if it is anything at all. One would expect it to be pretty big.

it being big doesn't surprise me...I'm sure there are a lot of extra hookups that allow developers to look inside at various areas in order to help them program efficiently...it's not like devs ever used a store sized box as a SDK anyways

Actually, it's beta hardware. Sony says 75% of the power the final dev kit will have.

Inside the box...

• a 2.4GHz Cell

• an unreleased GPU with a slightly less clock speed than RSX, connected via PCI-E (4-lane, only for the test purpose)

Depends. I haven't really read anything from the site, but if all they publish is one sided, pro-XBox, negative PS3 type stuff, then yeah, somebody does seem more worried about bring one system down to the other's level, rather than rising the other up to the one (if that makes no sense, I'm sorry)


But it they're willing to publish the good "news" released concerning the PS3 as well as the bad, then you're right... it's just news.
