    Keeping my Xbox on...

    Has anybody kept their Xbox' on for the whole night without turning it off. I just remembered I left it on at home and Im afraid maybe it will melt or something

      As long as it was manufactured in the later part of 2004 you should be fine. Any that were manufactured before that have the power cord issue, but if you got one of those new power cords from Microsoft, you should be good even then.

          I think the Xbox has an automatic turnoff if it hasn't been messed with in 8 hours.

              Correct. I enabled the auto-shutoff feature, which shuts it off after 6 hours of idleness (if that's a word).

              However, I've had times leaving on my PS2 all night, falling asleep watching a movie. I never have any laser problems.

              HOWEVER, there was one time with my PSX where I left it on for 4 days straight... THAT ****ed the laser up big time. It doesn't work anymore.

                      Nope. I have left i on for 8+ hours though and nothing was wrong with it.

                                  I left mine on for about 7 straight hours, and now it opens on it's own sometimes. I'll turn it on, and then the drive will come out. Then I'll put a game in, and close the drive, then it re-opens. Very strange. Doesn't happen all the time, but I have no clue why it happens even at all..LOL
