My only logical guess, is that Sony believes it will outsell the 360 no matter what. Therefore developers will be inclined to building their games to optimize the PS3 and ported down to the 360. Which in turn renders the 360's hard drive useless in the grand scheme of things.

I more than likely will end up with a PS3. But not till it gets to that magic $199 price, which based on rumors could take a while.
But with Sony's financial position and some questionable technology and design decisions, I don't think that the success of the PS3 is completely gauranteed. If the production costs are as high as reported, Sony could really hurt themselves to remain competative on price, or it could price themselves into last place. Microsoft and Nintendo just have so much more cash than Sony, and the 360 looks to be a very capable box, I think MS can and probably will dethrone Sony as the market leader in the next gen.Comment
