Do any of you have reservations about buying the initial batch of consoles, fearing that they might continue the trend of being faulty to some extent, and ultimately requiring a costly replacement down the road?
Is anyone reluctant about buying the first batch of Next Gens, given their history?

Is anyone reluctant about buying the first batch of Next Gens, given their history?
Both PS2 and Xbox ultimately had issues with the initial batches of their consoles.. The PS2's breaking, and the Xbox's having drives that were ultimately faulty in certain instances.

I really think that the 360 won't be as bad as the XBOX was originally. Personally, not sure about the PS3 because we already had a few articles talking about faulty SPE's included into the PS3. Turned me the hell off honestly. I think that there might be a few faulty systems from both but research seemed to be the key. The person with more leverage will be the better system out. I'm feeling more faultiness coming from Sony's camp. I'm planning on getting a system as soon as I get the money and it's out. All cash.... -

360 not at all. I got my Xbox in the 1st batch and haven't had even 1 problem.
Revolution I wouldn't be if I was getting it but I'm not. Never had a problem with a Nintendo product.
PS3 no ****ing way. I had a problem with PS1 and a whole lot with PS2(s).Comment

Luv Mist,
Typically the replacement plans on new systems had been $50 for 2yrs (that was when the PS2 and Xbox launched).
For the current crop it's $34 for 2yrs.
I expect the 360 to be 50 for 2yrs, but i won't be surpised to be seeing a 2yr deal for the PS3 at Gamestop/EB to be as high as 60-75. Even the retailers have learned their lesson with Sony.BeyondMediaOnline.comComment

I cleary won't be having any money for the warranty joint. I'm more into saving that money. I'm definitely going to check out a couple of sites that had repair guides on there. We'll see what the deal looks like though....Comment
