Question about MP3's on PSP?
To start off I have a PSP and I recently got a Sandisk 1GB Memory Stick. Apparently people have been sayin that it can hold about 240 songs, but to me it seems that it won't be able to hold that at all. Let me explain, I just got it and I have 36 songs on there. I have nothing else on the card. I have used roughly 200 MBs. So, if that sizing continues it will take about 800MBs for 100songs. Which woundn't make it even close to 240 with a full card. Can somebody explain what I'm missing or tell me about what there situation is?Tags: None -
Re: Question about MP3's on PSP?
Yeah...
The basis of 240 songs being able to fit on a 1Gb stick is made considering that all of the songs on it have a bitrate of 128 or less. Most of the songs you download from a P2P client or rip to your computer have a bitrate of 128(192 is the most common) or higher which makes the file size of each individual song bigger. Therefore you won't be able to fit as many songs on your stick as it may suggest.

Sandisk is a 3rd Party manufacturer...they make all kinds of memory...not just one type. The type of memory that a PSP uses is called Pro Duo. I believe regular Duo's work...but ones labeled just Pro do not, they are too big to fit in a PSP.Comment

Check eBay, that's probably where you'll find the cheapest price for one.
