Wow that's bizarre. Was there really a need for the PS3 to be a router??? Most people who have broadband already have some sort of router. Interesting...

Good!! Now lets get rid of Dual hdmi all those extra slots add a HD and release it at 299

Agreed. They should drop more features that aren't really important, add the HDD/custom soundtracks, and put it out at $299.

I'm totally clueless with the direction Sony is heading with their PS3 and I wouldn't be surprised it Sony is as well.

It seems to me that they just keep dropping stuff from E3 and aren't announcing anything new. First the Hard Drive (which is necessary IMO) and now router functionality. I still think it will be 400 bucks when it drops

Ironically, they still might be able to add the HDD since they got flack from so many people for making that dumb move. Maybe someone "higher" in the company addressed this issue. Ironically, there is a lot of time for them to restructure their system. I think they've understood that a lot of that bull they were putting in those interviews weren't working like the working harder for the PS3 and crap. What is truly the purpose of a router in a freaking VIDEO GAME SYSTEM ANYWAY!!

They also got lots of flack for their controller at E3, yet they say it's pretty much final. I doubt it'll phase their plans at all. I'd bet the HDD is seperate.

I dont know they choose to market the PS3 the way they have been. In all honesty is sounds like a big silver gadget more than a gaming system.

the reason they wanted to do this, was so people wouldnt have to have lots of routers to play big LAN games. you could simply daisy chain from PS3 to PS3.

Sony needs to get its head on straight, because it sounds like they are not sure what they want thier system to be, while MS has a strong solid strategy ready to go.

Microsoft has that system to system connection already with theirs don't they? Maybe Sony was trying to follow that plan. Oh yeah, those controllers look extremely horrible too. Way too big.

I believe all you have to do is just use a cross-over cable in between xboxes and they are networked together.
