when will the us update with the web browser be out will it also be on july 27th and i have a wireless router but if i take it to work will i be able to surf the internet with out a router because at my work they dont have a wireless router and i would love to look up news on the web browser while i am at work so how will this actully work please help explain thanks

You won't be able to use it if your work doesn't have a wireless network. It will work and any wireless cafe or those setups they have at airports etc.

What did Sony's memo say? Why did they say wait for the US version? Is there any difference?

I found this about the Japanese v2.0 firmware update.

CAUTION: This update is only for customers who obtained PSP (PlayStation Portable) for Japan which model number is PSP-1000 or PSP-1000 K. Upon completion of preparing, we will announce update information for the other countries/areas customers via SCE Group Web Site or other channels . For theses customers who obtained PSP in the other countries/areas, please DO NOT update PSP through this web site.

It also says that the update helps protect it from hackers on the PSP. Since I don't do that, it doesn't bother me at all. And having a web browser as small as the PSP would be nice to have. Hopefully this update comes out soon.
