Re: I've got a question for PC gamers
This is a interesting question. After updating my PC and video card, I've seen graphics which I think can rilval anything the 360 or PS3 has put out so far. (Well, who knows about PS3 since I've yet to see it in action)
IMO, I think the PS3 and 360 will be nothing more than a streamlined PC with equal graphics but have a much better game selection. But as P2xgamers brought up, even if the next gen consoles look better or(equal IMO) now, its not gonna be long before the next batch of video cards take over and wow our mind even moreso than the Dooms and the Half Lifes of today will.
The PC will always be superior in the graphics category, its just that consoles are more accessible and reliable than a video card. All in my opinion of course.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

what kind of system do you have?
and graphic card?
I'm wondering If I can just up my graphic card and be OK. or if a new system overhaul is neededComment

Re: I've got a question for PC gamers
PC Games always can look better than console games, but most publishers wouldn't want to release games that can only run on the most powerful PCs. They have to make sure games can run on average PCs as well as the best. Scaling the level of detail and special effects helps, but the graphics could be a lot better if developers only had to worry about making the game run on one high end PC. Console games don't have this problem.Comment

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

I cant really remember the specifics but the video card I bought was a ATI Raedon 9550 or something similar. My PC is something like 1.8 GHz.
One of the most demanding PC games, Farcry, I can run everything on High settings. But there is also a MAX setting after High and I cant even imagine how good that game would look then. It already looks like a slightly better XBOX game.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

I thought that was the thing about PC games. That they were designed on high end PCs and scaled back for lower end PCs.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: I've got a question for PC gamers
People will soon be able to buy computers that will rival the XBOX 360/PS3. The problem is that the parts needed to do that will be so rediculously expensive that you won't see many people buying computers like that, as a result, not many (if any) PC games will be built to run at a 360/PS3 level. Game consoles are built to do one thing - play video games, so they can do that better and for less money than a computer can. But it is definately POSSIBLE for CPU's to pull it off.Originally Posted by Briman123

Re: I've got a question for PC gamers
I too just upgraded my graphics card from a Geforce MX 440 to an ATI X850XT. WOW!!! What a difference. Playing HL2 with settings on MAX (AA MAX AF MAX) Game looks beautiful.. I also just got BF2 and with high settings again makes a difference in the game.
Remember guys, good graphics card, and plenty of ram to run games helps.
I have 2 gig of ram. It makes a world of difference in smooth play.Comment
