Final Xbox 360 Xenon Development Kits Arrive
http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/9158/X...t-Kits-Arrive/
Developers will continue to receive software updates but now they are working with final hardware, which means they can obtain final benchmarks to fully optimize their code and take advantage of the Xbox 360's three symmetrical cores (each running at 3.2 GHz) and custom ATI graphics chip.Last edited by Flawless; 09-04-2005, 04:53 PM.Go Noles!!! >>----->Tags: None -
Re: Final Xbox 360 Xenon Development Kits Arrive
Finally on the real. Just hurt that I still don't have the HD-DVD. Yeah, that's life though. Still getting it. I just wonder how long will this system last before developers start complaining about the lack of space....

Re: Final Xbox 360 Xenon Development Kits Arrive
A few are already complaining, and their Japanese developers. Team Ninja is complaining, because they wanted to add FMV's in DOA4, and running that in HD takes up alot space. From Software is saying the samething, they like to have FMV's to help tell the story (Like Final Fantasy), and they are already taken up an entire DVD, and it's inevitable the game will come on 2 DVD's, but even that is looking grim. Other than that nobody is complaining, yet.Originally posted by luv_mistFinally on the real. Just hurt that I still don't have the HD-DVD. Yeah, that's life though. Still getting it. No complaints coming out of Bethesda, and Oblivion is a massive game.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Final Xbox 360 Xenon Development Kits Arrive
I agree. Considering that they plan to have some 40 games available at launch, and that launch is about 2 months away. It could be that the final hardware is nearly identical to the hardware that they've hopefully had for months, and this is just a mere formality.Originally posted by JisticSo when the hell do we get a release date, and some more gameplay movies?
It just seems like this is running behind schedule. I hope it isn't a rush job.Comment

Re: Final Xbox 360 Xenon Development Kits Arrive
So let me get this right. MS has decided not to supprot HD-DVD and go with the standard DVD that is present in the current Xbox??
Will it support Dual Layer DVD discs? If so that would give them twice the capacity to work with.Comment

Re: Final Xbox 360 Xenon Development Kits Arrive
This is around the time the original final Xbox dev kits arrived to developers, and the Xbox 360 is expected to launch a little later than the Xbox did.Originally posted by ErvMS continues to make blunder after blunder. These games are going to be in Alpha in a couple of weeks or so, they have a very limited time to make use of it.
Like i've said many times, people that have bought consoles at launch in the past, know how lousy launch software is. The games that are actually worth a flip, you can count on 1 hand.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Final Xbox 360 Xenon Development Kits Arrive
Though a few are complaining just before anything has dropped, I'm really not liking what it could lead up too. Therefore, it makes me wonder how well they thought about the later years. Honestly, in another 5 years, I'm not really interested in hearing about another "next-gen" XBOX coming out. I personally want it to be around for at least 10 years. With complaints of companies already needing 2 disc doesn't really strike upgrade to me. Personally, if they could get that HD-DVD player in there with the outcome being the inevitable $10 increase, they should just hold out a bit for it.Originally posted by FlawlessA few are already complaining, and their Japanese developers. I do think that Oblivion is going to be great. I'm also sure that Team Ninja might have a chance of going over to the other side eventually. MS sure would have locked it up if they had more of their equation properly worked out. Nice that they're powerful and all and have that online, but that lack of storage for the gameplay is really going to kill dem boys....Comment

Re: Final Xbox 360 Xenon Development Kits Arrive
I have another quesiton now. I was just thinking about Toshiba and eventually came to the realization that Toshiba made that little announcement. I wonder how that could be applied now. I'd love to hear what Toshiba has to say now. I remember that was something so hoped for. Wasn't there a thread on it somewhere? I know I'm not imagining things like this. I sure would love for it to go down though. Kind of crazy how things, though irrelevant, are remembered so easily. Go figure. I'm really holding onto hope here....
