Easily one of the most impressive demo’s at E3 was Killzone for the PS3. My god that video was perfect. But as it turns out what we saw was really rendered by the PS3 at 5 fps, and speed up to 30 fps, which sucks. Guerilla Games has recently fessed up to as much, but also explained themselves and given us an update on that status of Killzone PS3:

The video shown at E3 was not in real time. It was a CGI demo sped up from 5 FPS as you said. The development team did this because we could not make a demo of that calibur at 30-60 FPS on the hardware we had at the time. Now however, the team is working the game on PS3 alpha kits, and it is looking just as impressive as the demo, at 30 FPS. The game is still in the very early stages of development, and I expect that it will release with visuals that are just as impressive as those in the E3 demo. We are planning on showing in game footage before too long, and we can’t wait to see the public’s reaction to it.”
Those are the words of Arjan Brussee, Development Director at Guerilla Games. And if she’s telling the truth… My God.

I thought it was but this is just confirmation, just another thing sony lies about. They always lie at e3 and its quite annoying.

Well he did say it would look just a good at the E3 demo. So my hopes are still there, that we will see this running on the PS3.

Give me 30 FPS with those graphics and animations, and I will sell my soul to Sony for life!

If anyone is actually suprised, then they have no sense of history.

Sony did the same crap with the PS2. And now the idiots on G4 just look that much MORE stupid for leg humping everything that was PS3 during E3.

Now you'll hear how the game is really gonna look like that!

I actually now think they can come close to what they showed, except for the animation. Killzone 2 is coming to the PS2, then Killzone 3 is for the PS3, and I wouldn't expect that for awhile.

Gears of War and UT 2007 already are pretty close graphics wise by next year they will probably look absolutely ridiculous. Cliffy B said he will hit what you saw in the Killzone demo in Gears of War realtime. I believe he promised this.

Anyways, who cares about Killzone? The first one wasn't all that, and besides I-8 for the PS3 looks much better.

Right, and Killzone was the truth right? Regardless, I thought Doom 3 was a great game. In no way does this game look like a ripoff. Point and case is that the GoW was a REAL video while the Killzone was a FAKE. Your opinion is your opinion which might as well be the minority my friend.

p.s.-If you think Co-op modes are solely made for only beating games on hard levels, you definitely need to work on your friendship skills buddy.

Killzone is garbage too. The point is that everyone is so excited over Gears of War, when it looks like a typical old knockoff. Where are the new games,new ideas and the new creativity? Besides, I'm excited over another GOW.

Well ea did say the graphics would look like what they showed at PS3 and it certainly wasnt. It all comes down to gameplay Killzone 1 was crappier then ever who cares about how good it looks. Ill have halo 3 and that will obviously be better

I thought we discussed this a few threads ago when we saw the Killzone joint? I thought we pointed out that there were no crosshairs and or any indications that the game was moved by the user? No offense but PS3 isn't known for their FPS. Not that I'm a ***** or just illogical, but it takes a little time to get a franchise down and going in the right direction. Basically, I'll be waiting....

Co-Op for me is a selling point! I've been known to buy, and even enjoy crappy games just because they have co-op.
