Are the Monster brand XBOX HD component cables better?

I asked last week about getting cables for my XBOX to hook up to my new HDTV. I tried them and when i play NCAA 06 it looks blurry. I got the XBOX brand component cables. If I upgrade to the Monster ones will it make this blurry look go away. I expected better. Any suggestions or improvements are appreciated! Thanks!

did you turn on 480p, 720p, 1080i on the xbox dashboard?? ANd set the "video" to widescreen ??? And have you tried any other games??? Put in MVP baseball if you have it, it is in 720p.

Yes I did that. I thought NHL 2K6 looked alot better than NCAA did. Those are the games I tried. Maybe I will try madden tonight. Those are the only games I have right now. I only have MVP for my PC. I have heard it is sweet in 720p. Maybe NCAA looks like that because it's 480p? Thanks for the help!

Quick answer: No, it will not make the "blurry look" go away.

You won't see much difference from 480i to 480p by using the cables. If you get a game that supports 720p then you will. The first difference you get with component cables is color accuracy and separation.

You probably already know this but check the back of you game box and see what HD resolution is highlighted and this will show you if it supports it or not.

some games will look better than others. Doesn't sound like the cables. I don't have NCAA so I don't know if the game is in 480p or not. If you ever decide to upgrade the cables, you can just go to radio shack and pick up their 'gold series' component cables and use those instead of the ones that came with your HD Pack. I don't think it will make a difference though.

poster, it's the 480 resolution. like Heel said, games in 480 look that way. but f you'v got a blockbuster card, rent MVP, and look at that game in 720, wow! i hope live and nba2k6 are in 720...
