How do you take apart your Xbox?

My Xbox basically does not work anymore, it hardly ever reads a disc, etc.

I tried blowing condensed air into it, etc and it didn't help. So I want to take it apart to try and clean it, but this thing is like friggen Fort Knox. I unscrewed a buncha stuff which seamed to loosen the outer case a little bit, but I can't pop it off.

I know there's gotta be a way, hopefully an easy one, to get this thing apart.

Don't they have refurbished Xbox's for $99 now? So that means I could trade in and get a "new" Xbox for $45?

I tried following those directions but I can't get the DVD drive out on Step 4. I have all the screws out but it's still sturdy as hell in there, I can't wiggle, pry or rip that sucker out.

Eh, forget about it, it's not worth the hassle. I'll just get Xbox 360 in a month and a half anyway.

Blowing air into it makes it worse.

ehh, don't give up yet. I think you are having trouble right here...

Give it a better tug on the flaps and you should be able to get it to this point...

Actually I can get the top silver piece off, but I can't get the bottom black part (the drive) out of the casing of my Xbox. I don't know if I'm missing a screw or what.

Well if you can get the silver top off then the lens and mirror should be exposed at this point. Is it not? All I did was follow the directions to cleaning the lens and mirror and my problems went away.

I think I'll be alright, I'm gonna open it back up in a few minutes and try it again. I definately misunderstood some of the directions on there last night. We'll see how it goes.

My only confusion now is getting at the mirror. Is it on the flip side of the DVD drive, opposite from the lense? I find the pics/directions a little confusing still around that.
