If I can sell my PSP (PM me if your interested ) and finish something for $ I may be close to being able to pre-order the 360. Man I hope so cause COD2 and NBA 2k6 are looking so good and my favorite series, wolfenstein, got announced for 360.

I preordered at GameStop on September 21st, but I'm just using that as a back up. I'm going to take Nov 22nd off and hunt around for a 360 at the department stores, then I'll use my preorder money on games.

As I'm getting married, I figure I'll go ahead and cancel one of my orders. Doesn't really make a whole lot of financial sense to me to slap down $1500 on videogames in a two day period. I'll still keep the one from Ritz. Even if I don't get it on launch day, I'll still get it, and that's all that matters to me.

I just called Ritz and asked about getting the xbox 360. You will not be guaranteed an xbox on the 1st shipment. You will be placed in line. She told me there are about 2,000 preorders. Now I'm not sure, but I have to believe that Ritz will not be recieving anywhere near that many on the 1st shipment. And no one knows when the second shipment is coming.

Now I'm not sure, but I have to believe that Ritz will not be recieving anywhere near that many on the 1st shipment. And no one knows when the second shipment is coming.

MS has already said retailers will recieve shipments each week until there isnt a demand for it

That's why I'm wary about preordering from them. I also like to avoid making big purchases from a company that doesn't have a physical presence if I can help it.

So over lunch I called EB, Gamestop, Circuit City, and Best Buy...and basically got the feeling I'm going to have to get lucky on release day and do some hunting. Best Buy DID do a reward zone offer, but you had to be preselected for the offer...and I wasn't. Gamestop said they won't even take preorders anymore, and EB told me to come on down but with no guarantee when I'll get it. They do have the "just console" packages available in store, one for $299 and 1 with the hard drive for $399. I know a lot of us were asking about that. Also, EB and Gamestop said they haven't gotten information on the replacement plan pricing yet...another of my questions answered.

My thoughts now are try the Walmart near my work, maybe a Strawberries or a Sam Goody, and Toys R' Us. But with a 9-5, I'm not encouraged by my chances. It's my own fault for getting interested in this so late, but I thought I could avoid the temptation! I may get down to EB and put some money down if their gut is that I'd get it before Christmas. I'd love to get it, but I'm not willing to tackle parents during the holiday season since I'm sensing a big supply problem coming up.

I don't understand it when these places don't bring in enough systems... doesn't that hurt business??? don't they know what the demand is going to be for this thing?... sometimes it just pisses me off!
