What is G4's problem with the 360?

I know everyone saw the E3 coverage in May and how all the G4 people were going off on Microsoft and Adam Sesler's on-screen ball drop when he grilled the rep from Microsoft.

But now I just turned on the tv and Attack Of The Show was just on and I saw Kevin Perreira go on this rant against what Peter Moore said at X05. He basically put down 360 saying the graphics aren't next-gen. Then they played a clip of Moore saying something about Sony and their Blu-Ray technology. Perreira then said that while Blu-Ray does indeed cost a thousand dollars RIGHT NOW, there is a reason why the PS3 is coming out NEXT YEAR. Huh? Soooo what.....in a year, the price will go from $1000 to $250? Please.

Anybody know what is going on with all those folks over at G4? I have nothing against not them not liking something, but it seems like everyone on that channel has an agenda against Microsoft and the 360.

From what I've noticed, they've always been all over Sony since the station's inception. What's funny is that Geoff Keighly has a column in OXM.

Here is the video. Putting the word "Microsucky" on the TV tells alot about them, and Crackdown the best looking title at X05? :y4: Good news is they will probably be off the air soon.

How is that good news? As much as I hate non-objective journalism, I'd rather HAVE G4TV than NOT have it. If you don't like it, there's always the option of.........GASP......turning to a different channel!

They don't even try to be fair and truthful. Just the other day they said the 360 lineup wasn't very good but that they were being blown away by the VIDEOS for PS3 and they couldn't wait for some in game footage.
They do nothing but cash Sony checks and mislead the viewers who don't know any better.

Pretty soon it won't matter anyway. G4 is trying to turn itself slowly into 'Maxim TV'. Makes me actually miss Cnet.TV. There's so little quality programming on G4 now that I really wouldn't miss it.

I never let the media get the best me. I think you guys should try to do that too. That means listening to game reviews.

Although I agree with G4 about the 360 not having a good lineup, because 1) it's my personal opinion and 2) none of the games interest me other than the sports games (Oblivion I can get on PC, and halo I've never really been interested in), but even now hearing about live/2k6 next-gens bums me and is making me think twice about getting a 360. I am in no way a fanboy of any system because I had xbox for 1 year before I sold it due to their not being any games for xbox exclusively that made me want to keep it. I prefer PC over any system, but I also enjoy ps2's games.

Oh and I personally think G4 is going down the mtv toilet anyway, so their credibility is turning into...

Maybe its the fact that in my "opinion" that 85 to 90% of the X360 games just don't look that hot,their I said it, you can hate me now. Tell me besides a little graphical upgrade, whats next gen? No I'm not a fanboy or a sony zealot just my observation and oh I know this is a XBOX friendly site, and I have an XBOX but 360 is just OK as of 10/10/05 nothing more nothing less.

Wow, to me it has the best launch lineup of any system yet. And the games look amazing, look at PGR3 or Kameo and tell me that can be done on this gen. Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

My favorite console of this generation is the Xbox.
If given a choice I’d want my hands on the Revolution controller over, say, Jessica Alba.
And words cannot describe my love for all things Harmonix, Katamari or God of War.

I called out the GameCube for lacking 3rd party support and genre whoring Mario. Naturally, that won me the hearts and minds of the Nintendo community.

I was the loudest opponent and skeptic of Sony’s pre-rendered KillZone E3 PS3 parade. Thus, I was labeled a non-believer by legions of Madden loving dual-shock worshipers.

And I recently called out Microsoft for a few things that were shown and said at X05. Now granted, I do believe Microsoft is being the most honest about their console (and its’ capabilities) with regard to the next-gen race, but that doesn’t excuse them from the occasional checking in my book

All in all? Not the best way to make friends on the internet… no. But luckily I’m not longing for brand-zealots to add me to their MySpace pages or sing my praises in some sticky thread on an EasyBoard.

You know what; it’s entirely possible to not give a damn about the label, packaging or company behind a product. It’s entirely possible to like, love and despise unabashedly. It’s entirely possible to have differing opinions, to acknowledge the existence of a counterpoint and to not be a giant douche on the internet when confronted with one.

I know, I know... for some of you these truths are a bitter pill to swallow. Just relax, grab a Dixie cup of water, choke it down, and stfu.

G4 has been pro sony throughout these events. You would think they would wait for in game demos from sony before they proclaimed it so much better than the 360.
