Err problems connecting to live
I keep getting this message when I try to sign into XBL. "Xbox Live is not responding. Please try again later" I have had Live for 2 years or so and have never had this problem. It goes to troubleshooter and everything is fine..it will say connected, but then when i exit and try I get the same message... anyone know how to resolve it?Tags: None -
Re: Err problems connecting to live
Everyone else can log on..at least that I spoke to. I called customer supprot but they didnt help any
They told me to configure my router, but Im not sure how. Not sure why I would need to do allt hat if I never had a problem before. Gave me these numbers
udp88 udp300074 tcp300074
Whats weird is...when you go to troubleshoot..it says everything is fine and im connected...I really dont have any ide and its pissing me off.Last edited by Brandwin; 10-16-2005, 06:00 PM.Comment

Re: Err problems connecting to live
Someone at Xbox.com told me to try this...
have you tried updating your firmware through the linksys website? your firmware might be out of date so that's the first to try. I had a similar experience, I was playing one day and my internet just cut out. I could surf the net on my computer but couldn't connect to live. I'd go through the trouble shooting menu and make it through all but the last step saying xbox live no found, or could not connect, something like that. I owned the linksys wrt54g at that time and what I ended up having to is reset the router and reconfigure/setup everything all over again. Now when i say reset, I don't mean turn off, there's a small button in the back that you need to hold in til all the lights blink and stuff, then run the setup again, or just type your IP into your browser and configure manually that way. If you feel you want to try this and aren't too confident in your skills call linksys and they'll help you do it.
Or...isnt the ethernet wire the one I would hook stright from the modem to the xbox so it doesnt run through a router? Or is it a diffrent cord?Comment

Re: Err problems connecting to live
man this sucks. All my gaming is done online for the most part and that is whats messed up with my xbox.
If I went and bought a new one, how long do I have to return it? 30 days right? Shoot I might do that. Keep it for three weeks, get my leagues finished etc and then return it. I dont want to spend the money and keep one, when 360 is right around the corner... Can I get my live account on a new one? It has to be my xbox..has to be.Comment

Re: Err problems connecting to live
Every now and then I have to contact my internet provider to see if my modem is making contact with their server or configured properly on their end. They can test the connection if you contact customer service. If your modem isn't hitting their server that would give you the can't connect to xbox live. Its worth a shot, hope this helps.Last edited by Pratt75; 10-17-2005, 03:02 PM.Comment
