Expected and I have no problem with it.
How long have we paid 49.99 and lower for games?

Obviously not, or no one would buy it.

games have been $50 for 15 years now, they were bound to increase sooner or later.

It doesn't matter how much they sell. Just because a company makes money doesn't mean they should keep prices the same even though the cost of living , developing costs etc. goes up.
Games have reletively stayed the same for years. An increase after all these years is warranted IMO.

It would be very nice if Sega kept their sports games cheaper still.

Most games were $50 so it's only a $10 hike in price.

I can see a $10 hike in price per game. Developers don't come cheap...Neither is the manufacturing process and everything that goes with it.

The $10 increase doesn't bother me at all. I figured I'd pay that much with next-gen games. Then again, I've been through these increases a few times in my lifetime.

Some N64 games were selling for $60 when they first came out. So seeing $60for a game now isn't a big surprise.

Also, I remember some certain Genesis games retailing for $70 back in the day, like Shining Force 2. And with that game, you got a cheap cardboard box, you didn't even get a plastic game box! Bah!

I got no problem with it.

Think of so many other things that have cost so much more over time while videogames have remained at 50 dollars. Gas, wages, material. A bunch of stuff that contributes to a videogames final price have went up, it's not surprising to see the games go up as a result.

I paid $74.99 for Tecmo Super Bowl for the SNES back in 1994 or 1995....can't remember.

Yeah, it was bound to happen....

BTW, this really isn't a Madden specific thread. I'm going to move this to Non-Sports Gaming.
