Stupid question about Xbox 360....

I know this has been asked a dozen times before, but does xbox 360 allow us to play our old xbox games from the original xbox? If so, I'm definitely getting xbox 360 b/c my current xbox is on its last wheel.

It will allow some backwards compatibility but as of yet we don't have an official list of compatible games. Supposedly the big ones like Halo 1 and 2 will be playable.

Does anyone know if most of the newer xbox games will be playable on xbox360?

The main one concerning me is star wars battlefront 2. I told myself I wouldn't buy anymore xbox games after nba26 but that game is looking too good to pass up. If it wasn't I could get it for the pc but I'd still like to know if it should be compatible if anyone remembers hearing any info.

Yes, but you will need to buy the premium 360.

The reason why I ask is b/c I am going to get College hoops a week from now, and I want to know if I could still play this game on 360 b/c my xbox is acting up.

it's still up in the air, nobody knows for sure what games will be.
