I went to the EB I worked at and one of my former Co Workers explained to me what happened. He said Microoft was not prepared for the amount of Preorders they recieved and had to cut the amount the offered at launch as they could not handle the order. He said that will be releasing a shipment each week speciafically for Preorders until EB's preorders are filled and that they also had a meeting about accessories as well as microsoft has stated that there wont be a a whole lot of extras shipped to stores like the EBs as they are concentrating on the preorders. My boy said this launch of Xbox 360 preorder wise is the highest ever even more than PS2

What is even funnier is that they haven't stopped taking preorders yet..... Gamestop and the like have stopped months ago but right now you could actually go to a EB and preorder a game as of right now which in certain cases would be understandable but if you are already short handed you would think the first thing to do is stop taking preorders.

I have to call back tomorrow to speak with the manager at Eb to see if I'm still on the list for launch. I preordered on July 3rd, I hope I get one on launch. I will be extremely unhappy if I don't get one. By the way, the associate I spoke with today on the phone said the shortage is a reality. EB had a conference call yesterday about the situation. He said the manager has called a few people to explain to them why they won't get a system on launch day. This whole thing sucks!! They are also coming up with this lame scheme for people to spend more money. He said you have to preorder something like 4 extras items to ensure you get a system. Sounds kind of fishy to me.

Sucks for the people who want their 360's..good for people like me who will wait 4-5 hours for one and sell it on ebay for ~500-600...

I preordered on Tuesday. I could really care less when I get it. I'm glad that I paid the SOB off and now I get some good time in with my Xbox before I get rid of it. CH2k6 is dropping on me too. Gotta get some good time with that.

I paid for mine in full already, and I pre-ordered it like a 2 months ago, but it was 2 days after the EBgames opened, and they barely look like they do a lot of business, do you think I am going to be okay?

My EB is going to put people on top of the list that preordered multiple items with the console, because they feel that some people that just preordered the system without additional accessories or games are just purchasing the console to sell on Ebay at a higher price.

200-300 profit for 4 hours of "work" standing in line for one..

Is there a date set for when the PS3 comes out? I don't want to have any of the same trouble with the 360. Does anyone have any idea how many months in advance places like ebgames lets you pre-order?

Nothing is set in stone, but this latest article/interview with Howard Stringer suggests Fall 2006 for the U.S.

I called EB today and, like I thought, I'm safe. I am #2 on the list and gauranteed one on launch day.

I asked at Blockbuster today if the number of systems had been cut since that's where I preordered mine(the only place to here) and they said no but they're only getting 600 for all of Canada.
