    360 XBL Setup

I have my cable modem a few feet away from my xbox. Will I be able to just plug in the ethernet cord from the 360 to that on launch and will it be connected and will I be able to get online? Or will I have to buy something else? Sorry for the question but I'm not that internet savy.

I dont see why not... Thats how my setup is... I have a router, with 1 wire going to my Cable Modem, another wire going to my PC, and the other going to my current Xbox...

Should be fine. As far as I know, it's just like the Xbox setup. Just do an account recovery from the dashboard and get your XBL account on there.

Will it cost more or is it the same amount or am I charged extra because of 360?

You won't be charged anything extra. You might want to get a router or switch if you want to have both your xbox and PC to have internet at the same time.

isnt the price of XBL $69.99 through retailers, and $40 through the dashboard??

              Re: 360 XBL Setup

I have a question about XBL.

We recently got DSL through Verizon. In the spring, I'll probably pick up the 360 and hook it up in the basement. How would I go about setting up a Silver account? Like, what all would I need to set up XBL?

With Hi-Speed Internet, will I be able to buy a wireless adapter and not need an ethernet cord?

You have to have a wireless router as well.

You would need to connect your xbox to the internet. You can either plug it directly to your broadband modem, or you can connect it to a router via an ethernet cable or wirelessly.

How much would both of those together cost?

Well, the wireless adapters run about $60 I believe, and the wireless routers themselves are around $30-$50, so about $100.

Yes. However, the $69.99 XBL Starter Kit also comes with the headset and a game. The $40 price is just the subscription itself.

                            Thanks man.

EDIT: How exactly does it work? Do you plug the adapter into the XBOX and the router into the computer?
