i have a problem even wanting to play a game that looks so childish graphically. this might as well be Spyro to me.

No way is this game that short counting all the side quests. Rare had a huge demostration back at TGS, and said the game would take on average 20-25 hours to complete, if you wanted to get and finish everything. Now, if you're one of the people that doesn't like to venture off the main quest, then this game might be a little short for you.

IGN said it was 10 hours.

And this from gamespot, who did rate it highly...

The Bad: Disjointed introduction may be frustrating; fairly short game at fewer than 10 hours in length; two-player cooperative mode isn't very compelling.

Maybe this makes me a bad person, but I have a hard time playing with female lead characters.
