Cool thing about the Walmart were I was, the manager let us stay inside the stores front entry way which was enclosed. He locked us up inside and gave us chairs and a table. We were chillin watching dave chapelle until they started selling the units at 1am.

Man it was kinda funny and sad at the same time to see people walk up to the door all night looking for 360's and being told it was sold out. The looks on some of their faces.

I wish MS did not handle their launch like this. It really sux.
I know, it's just bad business. I didn't preorder back in July when I had a chance to be 3rd on the list (), but MS should have been better prepared or held off the launch until next year when they had more consoles to satisfy demand. I feel bad for all of the people who haven't been following the launch as closely and see an ad for it in the paper today. Then they go to the store and find out that all the 360's were sold the night before at midnight. That's just false advertising.

To avoid this for the PS3, go preorder now if you can! I am.

I went to my local Target last night about 10pm eastern and surprisingly was the first in line, and by 6am there were about 40 or so. By the time they handed out the "golden tickets" I was first to get in and first to get out. I bought PDZ and a play and charge kit to go along with the premium system. They only got 4 premiums and 16 cores.

I went to my local wal mart at 6:00 pm and received my premium system at 1:00 am . They had us all wait in the lay away line with chairs. They had about 54 premium systems and 20 or 30 core. I was number 41. It was crazy because some guy had been there since 11:00 pm the night before and was going up and down the line being a jerk about how he is number 1. Then when he got up to get his system, his card was declined. Carma(spelling) is a you know what.

Yep. I was there, heres a post I made at another message board.

OMFG, I got a great story to display the gayness of walmart.

So the walmart was sellin at 12, they said they were handing out the tickets at 11:15. Me and my bro get there at about 645. We see about 15 people outside, unorganized as hell, mind you some people had been out there all day, but the stupid manager lady kept coming outside saying there was no official line. I was standing right by a door cuz I figured if we had to play mad dash, and with me being one of the fast afro-american kids, Id run and get it. But 1030 comes along, which is the time the lady said she was gonna have info. Were all bunched around the fire door(WTF) and the lady says the dumbest thing ive ever heard.

"OK, this is what were gonna do, were gonna make a line, which is gonna start to my right."

There are at least 150 people out there, and it was clear that they only had 48 xboxes, so obviously everyone is pushing tryna get in line. After about 30 seconds, the cop gets mad and says since you guys cant be ordered, NO xbox 360s will be sold tonight. Everyone is mad because it was obviously the managers fault. Most people left, probably heading to lineup at another store, or to fade into oblivian, but we stayed inside the store walkin around. This annoyin old lady kept comin on the PA sayin no xboxes will be sold tonight, you can call at 12pm tommorow for more info on what they are gonna do. Theres about 50 some people waiting in the store, and at about 12 o clock, they say lineup in front of the garden doors, which is on the other side of the store. We all run, in the rain, I get in front of the line, and am handed my ticket for the premium xbox, which I can pickup in the morning. My question is, why did I have to go through all that, when if the stupid lady would have made a line in the first place, all of that would have been avoided? Walmart sux.

My superwalmart was suposed to get a large shipment but only got 4 premiums and 10 cores....line was filled by three....they handed tickets out at 9. I went over to KMart where they had 4 and 4. I was 5th in line and waited from 9 pm to 5 30 am...manager showed up and gave us all tickets to come back at 7 when they opened.

Now I'm trying to track down a hard drive.

Well I tried 2 walmarts and no go's, one store 38 premiums 50 people,
              another 2 premiums 6 people.

I went home thinking no xbox but then I went to sams way early about 1:30 and waited and finally got mine. They had 20 premiums and the 20th person walked in at 7:00 am and picked it up. I could have slept arghghgh.

Anyway glad that I got mine but sams was the best place to go their bundle
was 2 controllers and a plug and play for 450.

Re: How Many People Waited in LINE

ok heres my story, yesterday at about 345-400pm i ran into best but to make sure my best buy card was still active since i jadnt used it in like a year or so, i saw a few ppl huddled around the door, they worked there so i didnt think anything of it, i go in, check on my card, ask if they had anything special planned for launch, they said ppl prob would be in line real early in the morning, im like ok and i walk out. well outside i take a closer look at the group of workers and i see they are surrounding 4 ppl in line for the 360 telling these guys how crazy they werre etc, so i start talking to them asking them when the optimum time would be to join them etc. well, i schmooze with them for 10-15 mins then head home. I convinced the first guy in line to call my cell phone if the line was getting out of hand.

so im at home watching the 6 o clock news and how ppl are lining up and all, surer than anything my cell phone rings and he tells me there is 12-15 ppl in line now. I mull the decision over for about a hlaf hour, my wife is like you dont have anything else to do, you want the system, but its cold and raining etc, so at about 7 is say screw it, i load everyhting into my truck and get overthere. i get there at about 715, im actually 26-27th in line, word on the street all night was that there would be 30 premium systems and 15 core, turned out to be prob 35 premiums, 13 hours after my arrival i was walking out of best buy with a premium 360, call of duty 2 and madden 06, made some friends in line, it was funny cause it was like everyone was a team, no outsiders allowed. if anyone even looked like they were trying to go to the front of the line it was on. lol.

by 6 in the morning the line had to have been at least 100-115 deep, even after employees showed up and said only 45 systems, everyone stayed. noone took off until they handed out our tickets. on a side note, i slept for about 4 hours in my truck cause the line was set in stone once we all had our chairs set up and our umbrellas out.

Yeah there was a lady in a hockey sweat shirt in line that was marking peoples hands with numbers and went and got the manager to write all our names down. It was funny because there were two guys that butted in line and she told them they weren't here and to go to the back of the line. It was cool that she did that though otherwise it could have been ugly.

Re: How Many People Waited in LINE

I didn't want to wait in line for 9 MORE hours at BestBuy so I dropped out of their line at just past midnight. I caught some sleep, than went to ToysRUs at 7:30AM-I was the first one there. By 8AM there was 25 people in line. Even after being informed that there were PROBABLY only 10 units left (there was some question about about new units with a recent shipment) the line swelled to 40+. About 9:15AM they handed out tickets told everyone they definitely had only 9 units. There were 5 premium and 4 core units. An 11 or so year old kid asked me about where he was in line because he wanted the premium unit. I said well, I'm #1 and I'm 16 (last two digits) on the list and you're #22 so you're #7 in line. The kid jumps to the front of the line and says, "I hope they don't go by the numbers!" They didn't so I jumped back to the very front and still had trouble getting a premium because they had 3 cashiers working at once. Now to hook it up.

I waited 13 hours at Best Buy in Burbank, IL #50 in line. It did get cold at times, but I had a great time. There were 6 other guys/girls in line that were really cool to talk to and shoot the sh*t while we waited.

At 12:15 a.m., I walked out of Best Buy with a PREMIUM system and some accessories. I am glad I don't have to run around today to hunt one down.

I can't wait to go home from work and try this bad boy tonight.

Just a heads up. In case you didn't know. If you have a hi def tv, make sure that you switch it to hi def on the cord and make sure you change your 360 dashboard to 1080 or 720 depending on tv. After that prepare to be amazed.
