What HDTV resolution is the best for the 360?

I have an HDTV that can recongnize 720p and 1080i. Which is better. I tried 720p last night and it was good, but I have read people say 1080i is even better. I am at work and just thought I would ask for opinions and reasoning. Thanks

I don't have 720p on my tv so I can't speak for that. I have been playing on 1080i and am blown away by every game I load up.

Whatever the native resolution of your TV is. 720p is usually better looking than 1080i though because it's a progressive scan and not interlaced.

What's up joeboo! How do I know what the native resolution of my TV is? I know it can handle both like I said above. Does my TV automatically select it? Thanks!

Hey Poster! You'd have to check the spec's out. In general, most LCD and DLP displays are 720p (aside from the new ones). Most CRT are 1080i.

Typically you want to feed the TV it's native resolution so that there isn't any converting going on.

Thanks joeboo. I have a plasma HDTV and I think mine is 720p. I will fiddle with it. Take care!
