    How do I find a mac address on the 360

    ??

    I use mac address filtering for my wireless network and can't seem to find the mac address for the adapter or the console.

      Hmm....good question. I also do MAC filtering on my WLAN at home.

      I don't have a 360 yet, but would it happen to be on the bottom of the 360? Maybe in one of the configuration screens?

      I think you could also get it by setting the IP on the 360, then ping that IP from another machine on your network. Then you can open up a command prompt and type "arp -a" (without quotes). That should bring up a table with Physical Addresses (aka: MAC Addresses) for each IP that's been pinged on your network.

          Start -> Run -> "cmd" in the text box -> "ipconfig/all" in command prompt.

          That's for XP..if you have another OS, check here: http://www-dcn.fnal.gov/DCG-Docs/mac/

          I had to do this morning to get my Xbox Live to work.

                  No problem, I was looking around this morning for the same thing. Xbox.com's link to find the MAC Address never worked, so I googled it.

                      Hmmm, I'm confused.

                      If you do an ipconfig /all, then you're getting the MAC address for the PC which you ran the ipconfig on. I thought you needed the MAC address for the wireless adapter inside your 360?

                          Yeah I only thought that method worked for me but it didn't. I was searching through menus and finally found the mac address though.

                              Yes, it should be on the network settings page somewhere.
