I haven't got online and played yet. I played split screen for a while. The learning curve is STEEP. It is hard to aim and hard to figure out wtf is goin on with all the rolling.

big change of pace after spending the afternoon with Call of Duty.

I think so far, alot of the previews have been spot on. It's good. It just doesn't wow you. When I was playing Call of Duty, I felt every ten minutes or so, something would happen that would blow me away. I can't remember the last time I played a game that had me talking to myself saying how cool certain things were.

With PD, it's good, it's fun, it's pretty but it's also nothing really new. That being said, I've only played the first mission, but I'm playing it on the toughest difficulty because I like the extra objectives.

It's hard to aim at times. Partly because aiming in Call of Duty is so easy and partly because the first enemies in this game are these tiny robotic spiders.

The dialogue definitely needs help. Some of it is just plain silly.

I'm looking forward to getting further into the game. Also haven't touched multiplayer yet.

After a few hours or play, if you're looking for a good single player experience, go with Call of Duty over Perfect Dark.

If it's multiplayer that you're looking for, I think PD may be the way to go due to how customizable it is. But that probably speaks more to how limited Call of Duty is with multiplayer options rather than how good PD is.

The difficulty in aiming continues online. I really just think the learning curve is steep. I played the first 3 levels co-op today. ...

BEST CO-OP EVER! You have to work as a team or you really can't complete the levels.

Have you tried adjusting the analog stick settings? That would probally help out.

Yes I have. It helps some, but aiming in general is still tough for me. I haven't really "gamed" for probably 6 or 7 months too.

Which aiming scheme are you using?

The Halo-like scheme or the original PD scheme?

I agree with Tinman's assessment. Fun game, great graphics, but doesn't blow you away, at least not initially. Also, the fact that the checkpoints are so limited is annoying. I don't regret my purchase, though. I haven't tried it on Live yet, but I'm going to give it a go, tonight.

I get confused when I play. They tell me to do something but I have no idea what they're talking about.

Default now. I guess I just need to play w/ the options more tonight.

So glad to hear I'm not the only one with that issue. It got to the point that I was enjoying getting killed and having to replay the entire mission over again so that I could try to understand what they were saying...

... I then realized that if you push start, the pda type thing that you have that lists the objectives gives you emails describing the tasks. Push the A button on an objective if it has the message icon on it.
