Re: How do the 360 games look on non HDTV's?
I'm on an HDTV and my brother is on a regual 25"
Yes, the HD helps make things look cleaner, but some of the games still look really really good. like Madden and PDZ.
Just realize that it's still first generation 360 games and you'll be a little underwealmed with the graphics, but that's how it was when the PS2 first came out and the Dreamcast looked better for the PS2s first year. Some XBox 1 games look just as good as some of the 360 games, BUT the 360 games do have an extra layer of look too them MINUS Tony's Crapper Hawk.
I put NBA 2k6 on his TV and then played on my TV. yes, the HD cleans up stuff, but NBA 2k6 still looks VERY good on the non-HD TV. Still looks next gen.BeyondMediaOnline.com -

It will depend also on the quality of your SDTV. The games look great on my 27" Toshiba flat (Standard Def). You probally won't realise what you're missing unless you've seen 360 games on an HDTV.Comment

Re: How do the 360 games look on non HDTV's?
Madden and NBA 2k6 look amazing on my 36" Sony Wega Flat Screen Non-HDTV. I can not justify paying another $2,000 for an HDTV because I a very underwhelmed with HDTV in general. I am probably alone on this, but HDTV is not all that it is cracked up to be IMO.
My best friend has a 32" Sharp Aqous LCD which gets amazing ratings. I have watched football in HD at his place several times and it is a slight improvement to my TV with a component set-up.
I will get an HDTV in the next few months, but I can now be a bit more patient because the 360 looks great on my current TV. I want an HDTV more for the flatness of the new TV's, not the picture quality.Comment

Re: How do the 360 games look on non HDTV's?
I've played NFS, Live , NBA 2k6 and Madden and they all look AWESOME IMO. Live plays just okay but the graphics are OFF THE CHAIN! NFS...OFF THE CHAIN! Madden...OFF THE CHAIN! NBA 2k6...it looks VERY GOOD but not as much a jump as the other games. I myself purchased Madden, 2K6 and COD2 and have NO REASON to return any of them because IMO they are awesome games and will make MOST people look in awe...I said MOST. And this is on a non-HDTV with component inputs.Carolina Pride!!!
NFL: Panthers and Raiders
NBA: Hornets (Again...Yes)
NCAA FB: Gamecocks and Tarheels
NCAA BB: Gamecocks and TarheelsComment

27" WEGA non-HDTV here and the games I have all look improved over the original XBOX. I have the component input as well.
Call of Duty 2 even without HDTV is breathtaking. Madden looks great as does NBA 2k6. PGR3 and PD0 are also very good.
Overall, this makes me seriously consider holding off on an HDTV until more 1080p tv's make it to the market before the PS3.
If your on the edge about buying a 360 or not with a non-hdtv... I would go ahead and get the 360, the games look great.Comment

I dunno guys...i've tried it on a non HD tv and it was good, but man...we put it up on the 60 inch dlp and it blows it away! If you really want to be wowed, play it a 50 + inch tv. I've also seen it on lcd today, and dlp does look slightly better. it coulda been the lighting around me as well but oh well.Comment
