Sorry, brother-in-law. Just didn't feel like type the -in-law at the time. Does it matter? lol

Here's the latest. Based on what I told him, he called Best Buy about it. The salespeople proceeded to tell him there's nothing that can be done. That's how the systems were sold. He doesn't like confontation that much, so I told him I was going to call. I did and asked for a manager right away. She proceeded to tell me that all Best Buys were selling them as bundles and there's nothing she can do. Can someone who got from from Best Buy verify for me that they were forced to buy their core system as a bundle? I proceeded to tell her all about bait and switch and false advertising. I told her to read me the front of their ad where it clearly shows Core System for $299 and not one thing about having to buy anything as a bundle. I told her that I would just love to call Best Buy corporate or the Better Business Bureau just out of principle because I don't like seeing people being taken advantage of. She then says she'll talk to someone about it and call him back. Hopefully someone over there will realize that what they're doing is wrong. If not, I'm going to have some fun. I also thought about asking to see their packing slips for deliveries. I'd like to see if they really only got 22 Premium units or if 4 employees mysteriously ended up with systems. That wouldn't look too good either. lol

The lesson here is don't go to Best Buy if you want to get something, especially a video game system, on launch. As long as they can affort it, I'm sure anyone who really wants it reserved it or at least tried to. I think going to Best Buy for the PS2, XBox 360, or soon the PS3, at launch is just asking for trouble. Not only do you have to contend with the weirdos behind the counter, but the crazed moms ready to demoralize themselves to get one.
After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!

I bought mine from the Best Buy in Flower Mound, TX. There were 13 of us who got Core and they didn't make any of us buy anything. All I got was the actual system and the Hard Drive.

The manager called my brother-in-law back and said he could return whichever parts of the bundle he wanted to. I think they knew I was very serious about taking it up the line if they didn't correct the mistake.
