Even the PS2's trickled in slowly every week and there was a real shortage of those. There is no doubt in my mind that Bill Gates will have more shipped out weekly. At least I think so. If I can't one before Xmas I guess I'll wait for the PS3 and be smart enough to preorder one this time. I just assumed all this was hype like the PSP's and there would be plenty on the shelves. Shame on me for letting Bill Gates outsmart me. I guess that's why he's the billionaire and I'm home without one.Comment

WOW bro, that doesn't seem fair if you order the first day pre-orders are taken. I really have no idea what to expect and I'm sure that's what Bill Gates is wanting all us to think. I still firmly believe there will be plenty before Christmas time comes. MS has to much to lose and to much to gain if they don't. If there really is a shortage like they claim then in the end there are going to be alot of mad gamers. I live 5 minutes from Wal-Mart so I guess that I will show up there once a day to see. On another note I went into FYE yesteday and there was nobody in there and the gentleman was selling his last one as I was walking through the door. It was a core system and I want the premium anyway.Comment

I'm sure it will be similar to PS2. You'll get regular shipments of units (8-15 probably) in every shipment-- starting probably the week after next to the gaming stores and to targets, walmarts, best buys etc etc.
I scored two PS2's at a target about 3 weeks before Xmas a few years ago by calling targets, walmarts and bestbuys and seeing if i could find someone who could tell me when the next shipment was coming in (tues and thursday usually) and if there were any units in the shipment. Eventually I found a Target getting a shipment of 6 and me and my buddy were there first thing in the morning with 2 other guys and we bought them all up. They didnt even make it out of the back.
If you work hard enough (and are lucky) and really want one you can find them before Jan 1.Comment

I think Friday would make sense because it's the busiest shopping day but if that is the case then they only had so many units at launch on purpose. I don't see how in 3 days they could send more out if there's a shortage unless of course there isn't a shortage as many of us expected. Who knows, all I know is that I'm bored. My wife is at work the next 3 days , it's cold and until tomorrow night's game im stuck inside bored. Oh well could be worse.Comment
