Help setting up wireless controllers

Can someone please give me a step by step breakdown of how to set up my wireless controllers, b/c I'm apparently not intelligent enough to do it. I'm still using my plug and play b/c I am not smart enough to get these things to work. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

All I did was put the batteries in and hold down the x on the controller(the one in the middle not the blue x) till the green light came on.
Step 1 turn on your console
Step 2 put in batteries
Step 3 Hold the on button on the controller

I am not sure if that's what you wanted or not, but that's what I got out of your question.

if you have more than one wireless controller, this is what you do...

1. go to the dashboard, and press the little circle button beside the memory unit slots. The cirlce of light will start to flash.

2. Then you take the controller and hit the small round button on the top of the controller next to the charge space on the top. Hold this button down and after a few seconds, the lights on the 360 will assign a "quadrant" to the controller you are registering and then the right quadrant on the controller will light up and you are ready to go...and you shouldn't have to do it again.
