Should this system be this hot.

I have notice the 360 get really hot in the back. My old xbox would be left on for 12 hours and it wouldn't even be close to what this 360 is doing in a hour. I have it a good place to breathe, but I want to know if this is normal?

Mine is also really warm and so is my friend's. You can't really compare it to the X Box because it is a lot more powerful. Most people have said their's is warm while some said it is cool.

You are right that this thing is more powerful then the first. The first time I saw the power brick I alomst crapped my pants.

I too was getting worried after I felt it and it was very warm. It had plenty of ventilation room. Didn't the xbox have essentially the same thing as the brick only on the inside of the box?

For the last time, the 360 is going to run a little run. How may processors is it running, 2 or 3, I don't remember. This is a mini PC. I'm sure you PC runs a bit warm also. As long as you have proper ventilation, you should be fine.

My Pc doesn't even come close to how hot my 360 is and I leave my computer on for a day or 2.

try putting it vertical to allow both sides of the box to breathe Or just flat out put it in a open area.

Is this 2 days straight of gaming on your PC. Gaming works the components a lot harder and thus they get a lot hotter!

BTW: My 360 is warm when I put my hand in back but not real hot like burn my hand.

The 360 doesn't get any hotter than the PS2 Slim. Make sure you don't put the system in a cubbyhole or a shelf. Give it a lot of room to breathe.

I had a dolby digital stereo receiver that used to burn my hand when I touched it...the thing last me a good many years.....point is, electronics get hot...this isn't just the 360, all stuff does that has a lot of parts to it....keep it ventilated and you'll be fine...but it's always going to run hot.

I don't mind the heat. The fan noise bothers me a little. I guess I will get used to it though.

^^^same here. I keep my thermostat pretty low so the 360 is helping heat my living room

I wonder how many lawsuits microsoft will go through because of 360s overheating and burning houses down.

                              Probably none.

They shut down if they get hot enough.
