I'm not even sure if my router has a firewall. I would think that it would. However, I have no idea how to disable it.Originally posted by bkrich83"Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Re: 360 Setup and background Thread...

Originally posted by SoMiss2000the only way I go it to work is to turn off my windows xp sp2 firewall. Otherwise, the 360 can't find my pc. I'm still jumping through hoops to figure it out. I also had to set my router to allow UPnP devices.
did you have to try to open up any ports or anything on your router??

also in your services.msc is your logon for the Upnp set to the username NT AUTHORITY\LocalService and then the password or do you have it as a local system account?? I allowed Upnp on my router but I still can't get my 360 to connect to the PC.. I know I have to have a username and password to get into my computer from my wireless laptop, so I am not sure if that is affecting it or what...PSN: duFFleBaG_rAn_

You don't want to disable the firewall in your router. The Windows firewall however, is a POS.Originally posted by SoMiss2000I'm not even sure if my router has a firewall. I would think that it would. However, I have no idea how to disable it.Comment
