    Portable Advice

I am looking into getting a portable system and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

I was thinking about the PSP but it doesn't seem to be making too many waves plus the games seem expensive.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Re: Portable Advice

I just got a PSP and I think it's one of the greatest electronic devices ever. I've only got a chance to play Socom, so I can't comment too much on games but it will probably go on my "buy" list.

I've experimented with tranferring my own video onto the unit, and found that it was fairly easy, and I got great results. Make sure you invest in a 1GB+ Memory stick if you intend to use video on this thing.

I originally intended to buy an Ipod to store Mp3s(I was sharing an Ipod mini with my wife) but decided on the PSP instead to store a handful of songs for use on the home sound system. As far as sound quality goes, I find no difference between the Ipod and the PSP.

You can also store digital pictures on the PSP and view them individually or in a slideshow.

Internet browsing is possible with the PSP, as well as some online play with some games. I tried Socom online a few times, and I noticed no lag at all.

The LCD screen is HUGE for a portable, NOTHING comes close. Unless you really like Mario, the PSP is the system to get. After you get your PSP and you get an urge play Mario games, I hear it's possible to load Nintendo emulators onto the PSP.

If you're looking to save a little money, you can check for PSP's on Ebay:

And if you pay with Paypal you can save an addition 10% using this code:

That would bring the total to around $207 shipped.

I have a PSP that I play when I travel and my wife likes to watch movies on it. The game selection isn't that spectacular yet, but I have faith we'll see some good games in the near future.

The PSP is worth every penny and then some. Especially with GTA out now on the system, you can't go wrong.
