So, what do you think of the REVOLUTION controller?

Totally wireless and sports games could take advantage of it? Well thats what one exec said at EA.

Here`s a few screenshots of the controller.

Here`s a link and a quote from an article that has a comment from EA and it explains a little bit about the controller.

Game control is essential – it's the area where perhaps the most game-play improvement can be made," said John Schappert, Sr. Vice President and General Manager of Electronic Arts (Research) Canada in a written statement. "While our portfolio represents a full array of titles across all genres, I think our sports titles might be the first to immediately take advantage of what this novel 'freehand' type of control has to offer."
I could see this controller being... well.... REVOLUTIONARY. I think it could be the next big thing in gaming.

I'll admit, at first, I was like WTF?! But giving it some time, reading people who have used it and played with it, now I want it. I plan on buying a Revolution on launch for 2 reasons... Nintendo and this controller..

The controller tells me that Nintendo won't be focusing on sports games, which is nothing new from Nintendo. Sports have always taken a back seat unless they featured Mario or one of his goofy sidekicks.

Can you imagine playing Madden with that thing? MVP Baseball?

It might be revolutionary, but it also is going to be pretty limited when it comes to certain genres.

That will be great for Mario Party 12 and Animal Crossing 2.

Did you read that article? The SR. Vice President of EA Canada said its ideal for sports games. Can you imagine having to push just one single button for EVERY reciever in a football game? Or just slighty move your wrist to do a juke move or a spin move or dive etc...etc...... well.... thats what the REVO controller is designed to do. With the REVO Con all you have to do is point at the screen and push a button to throw the ball in a sports game, to do a juke move you just flick your wrist. This style of control would make sports games 'A LOT' easier to play.

Agreed. Madden was one of the first games I thought of that could benefit from this controller. Plus, it has attachments to make it more traditional if thats your thing while still maintaining the laser pointer control type feature. You could simply point this at the play you want to run, hit A to snap the ball, and then point at your receiver and hold a button and flick your wrist to throw the pass. A quick flick makes it a hard pass, a soft flick makes it a lob pass. It's ideas such as that that get me excited. I hope this catches on and I can't wait to check this controller out myself. And the implications it could have on FPS games actually makes me want to play an FPS, and I hate FPS's.

Actually FPS games are GREAT on PC but I don`t care for them on consoles. A gamepad is just garbage for shooters, a PC keyboard and mouse is MUCH better. But the REVO Con is poised to change this. I use my console to play sports games so the first time I saw it I was kind of skeptical but it looks like it might be exactly what consoles need for both shooters and sports games.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

man, that would be a really cool way to pass in madden.
