Do they ask you for the date of your 360 purchase? I may get the warrenty, but I want to wait until the 15th, when I get paid, again.

I woke up a hour ago b/c someone was knocking on my door and I couldn't be happier it was the DHl man. I anwsered the door and the guy says here's your Xbox. I am half asleep and I am thinking to myself how does this guy know its a xbox and did he pull anything.I opened the package up and it said we replace your xbox 360 with a new console (Wow). I wrote the excact paper I got below.

Dear Xbox 360 Customer

So that you can get back to playing and enjoying your Xbox 360 quicker, we have replaced your Xbox 360 Console with a replacement Unit.

The replacement unit has a diffrent serial number that your old unit.

1. - We will perfrom the warranty registaration of the replacement console for you. If you had already registered your old unit, we will cancel the old registration.

2. If you purchased a Microsoft Exteneded Service Contract, we will establish a new contract to cover the replacement unit and cancel the Microsfot Extended Service Contract for the old unit.

If you had purchased a extended service through your selling dealer, you should notify the service contract carrier of the serial number change.

My whole process.
1 Called Friday to order the replacement box.
2. Monday recevied my replacement box.
3. Monday at 4pm the Dhl guy recevied my Replacement box
4. Got to the repair center in Texas Tuesday at 11:58am
5. Got my 360 back Friday at 11:30 am.

What was the problem with your 360? The reason i ask is I may be sending mine in, the package will be here tommorrow, My nba 2k6 won't read at all anymore. MS said send it in and guaranteed 3 day service. I am getting another copy of 2k6 to see if it is the disk or system, but I may send it in anyway just to be safe.

Does MS just tell you to send the system in for repairs and is that all they do? How do you go about getting the MS warranty?

It says 10 days on the warranty card in the box.

I think you can probably still send it in. They don't ask for a receipt or anything. You just have to write the date of purchase on the card. I think all they really care about is that they get the extended warranty purchase back before the standard 90 day warranty expires.

I just sent in the card. I didn't see a number to call (but I wasn't looking for one). I think if you send in the card tomorrow (tomorrow is the 10th day from launch I think) you should be fine. But I'm pretty sure they'd give you the warranty even if you missed it by a few days. They aren't going to turn down your 59 bucks.
