15 inch LCD Flat screen (Dell) OR 50 inch standard big screen t.v. for gaming?

just wondering what your guys thoughts were on this…I have a 50+ inch big screen tv (not widescreen, not an HDTV, it is just a regular tv that I bought like 7 or so years ago) and a 15 inch Dell LCD flat screen monitor….here is the thing, would you guys prefer to game on a 50 inch tv that is neither widescreen nor hdtv OR a 15 inch LCD flat screen with a max resolution of 1024*768? I am tight on cash with all the other accessories I bought because I was only able to get a core system, so just wondering what everyone’s opinions were….thanks for the input fellas.

It's been awhile since I saw a 15" monitor but i'd go with the 15" monitor first and see what you think. I would prefer much improved visuals as opposed to a much larger screen myself.
